Consumers Energy offers the PowerMIDrive program to support savings for EV drivers.
- Nighttime Savers Electric Rate: Rate that lowers the cost of electricity at night, ideal for overnight EV charging.
- Smart Charging Incentive: Earn a $10 monthly bill credit by charging your EV between 11 PM and 6 AM on weekdays or anytime during the weekend. This incentive can be earned for up to 12 months.
- Charger Installation Rebate: Receive a $500 rebate for the installation of a qualified level 2 charger with *a maximum output of 9.6 kW (50-amp circuit maximum/40 amps of output maximum). If you install a charger exceeding an output of 9.6 kW then additional upgrade fees for your electrical system may apply

The charger installation rebate covers the costs associated with the installation of a level 2 charger (i.e. wire, labor, etc.). However, if the installation is less than $500, we will also consider the cost of a charger purchase in the rebate amount.
The median cost for installation with our preferred installer network is $900**. Of note, this does not include the cost of permits or chargers.
