Submission Date: June 2, 2026Bill changes affect everyone differently, and you deserve clear, honest information when changes happen. With aging infrastructure and changing weather patterns, work is needed to secure Michigan’s grid – and that work comes at a cost. On Jun. 2, 2026, we asked the Michigan Public Service Commission to approve new electric rates to cover these costs. If approved, the average home with a monthly electric bill of $155 would see an estimated monthly increase of $13 (9%) starting in May 2027.

Submission Date: Dec. 16, 2025Bill changes affect everyone differently, and you deserve clear, honest information when changes happen. With aging infrastructure and changing weather patterns, work is needed to secure Michigan’s grid – and that work comes at a cost. On Dec. 16, 2025, we asked the Michigan Public Service Commission to approve new natural gas rates to cover these costs. If approved, the average home with a monthly natural gas bill of $88 would see an estimated monthly increase of $7.21 (8.2%) starting in November 2026.
