Outage Credit

Electric customers will now automatically get outage credits if they qualify.

If you are an electric customer, you don't have to fill out an application for an outage credit.

Please look below to see if you'll automatically get a credit for your outage. If you do, it will show up on your account in 90 days.


96 hours
If your power was out for 96 hours during catastrophic conditions.


A catastrophic event is one that leaves at least one in 10 of our customers without power. If that happens and you have lost power for a continuous 96-hour period, you will get: 

Residential customers:

  • A base credit of $40 on your bill
  • AFTER the base credit, you will get a $40 credit for every continuous 24 hour-period without power until service is restored

Commercial and industrial customers:

  • One day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount
  • If your power is out longer than 96 hours, you will get an extra day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount for every 24 hours without power
48 hours
If you lost power for 48 hours during gray sky conditions.


A gray sky event is one that leaves less than 10% of our customers without power. If that happens and you have lost power for a continuous 48 hour-period, you will get: 

Residential customers:

  • A base credit of $40 on your bill 
  • AFTER the base credit, you will get a $40 credit for every continuous 24-hour period without power until service is restored

Commercial and industrial customers:

  • One day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount
  • If your power is out longer than 48 hours, you will get an extra day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount for every 24 hours without power
If you lost power for 16 hours during normal conditions.


A blue sky event (normal conditions) is one that leaves less than 1% of our customers without power. If that happens and you have lost power for a continuous 16-hour period, you will get:

Residential customers:

  • A base credit of $40 on your bill
  • AFTER the base credit, you will get a $40 credit for every continuous 24-hour period without power until service is restored

Commercial and industrial customers:

  • One day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount
  • If your power is out longer than 16 hours, you will get an extra day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount for every 24 hours without power
6 plus
If you’ve had six or more power outages that lasted longer than five minutes within 12 months.


Residential customers:

  • If you have had six or more power outages within 12 months, you can get a $40 Consecutive Outage Credit. Once you get the credit for the sixth outage, your outage count restarts at 0.

Commercial and industrial customers:

  • If you have had six or more power outages within 12 months, you can get one day’s worth of your monthly minimum bill amount. Once you get the credit for the sixth outage, your outage count restarts at 0.
