The number of electric vehicles on Michigan roads continue to go up each year. That means the demand for EV charging for shoppers, travelers and residents is rising too.

To help communities offset the costs associated with installing chargers, we’re offering a rebate up to $7,500.

How to Qualify


  • Be a Consumers Energy commercial electric or combo customer

  • Own or have permission to install a charger in a parking lot or curbside location

  • Install any UL Listed, ENERGY STAR® Certified Level 2 charger with at least two plugs, two (2) NEMA 14-50 outlets, or five (5) 120-volt outlets on 100 amps of service

  • Install chargers or outlets in a public parking lot or curbside locations, within one to three blocks of a multifamily property or residential neighborhood

  • Agree to separate meter and enroll on commercial time of use (TOU) electric rate
