How Renewable Gas is Created
Collect Gather organic waste from Michigan-based dairy farms and other sources. Then collect waste at a biodigester.
Capture Biodigester uses bacteria to break down organic solids and capture biogas (primarily methane). This prevents it from reaching the atmosphere.Clean Biogas is purified to meet gas quality specifications. This is done by removing trace gases to make it suitable for use in the current pipeline infrastructure.
Consume The resulting RNG is injected into the natural gas system to heat and power homes and businesses.
Sustain By capturing more greenhouses gases than it emits, RNG created from animal manure is actually considered carbon-negative!
