About Charge@WorkFrequently Asked Questions
Any workplace location is eligible for rebates (e.g., small to medium business, industrial, or municipality).
Chargers can be made publicly available for all EV drivers or reserved for employees only. With network-connected Level 2 chargers you can set per kilowatt hour pricing to help recover investment costs. You can also establish a permit system to set a fee for non-networked charger use.
If your workplace is near a multifamily property or residential neighborhood, and you choose to allow public access to charge during off hours for your organization, you can get a higher rebate value of $10,000. In such cases, you may choose to mandate specific overnight charging hours to avoid interfering with working hours.
Participants must install a minimum of two (2) Level 2 charge ports on 100 amps of service to qualify for the full $7,500 rebate amount. The total rebate amount awarded may not exceed the total cost to purchase and install the chargers or outlets.
Any chargers that are UL Listed and ENERGY STAR® Certified qualify for the Workplace Charger rebate program. Level 2 chargers must not be more than 50 amps or 9.6kW of power per charge port.
There is no rebate cap per property, but the availability of rebate funding may be limited.
We require a separate meter enrolled on our commercial Time of Use electric rate plan (GSTU) to encourage off-peak charging . Off-peak charging is when the cost of electricity and demand on the grid is lowest. See an overview of the GTSU Rate Plan.
