Solar Gardens Sunrise

Now Non-Profits Can Provide Renewable Energy Bill Credits to Qualified Schools and Customers

The Solar Gardens Sunrise program is open to all organizations with a non-profit status that serve low-income residential customers or schools.

How It Works

number one icon

Establish Screening Process

Your organization must have processes in place to screen customers to ensure they meet the income eligibility requirements of the program.

number two icon

Pay for Solar Block Subscriptions

Your non-profit organization pays for SolarBlock subscriptions through grants or fund-raising activities.

number three icon

Assign Solar Block Subscriptions

Your organization assigns SolarBlock subscriptions to eligible income qualified customers or schools who are full service electric customers served by Consumers Energy.

number four icon

Customers Receive Bill Credits for 3 Years

Qualified customers who are assigned SolarBlocks by your organization receive the same bill credits as our Solar Gardens customers for 3 years without paying any subscription fee.

number five icon

After 3 Years You can Choose to Reassign Solar Blocks

After 3 years, your organization may choose to rotate the subscribed blocks to another qualified family or school.
