Safety at Home

Safety in Your Home

If you smell natural gas (a rotten egg odor) or think there’s a leak, please do the following:

  • Leave the area right away.
  • Go to a safe place, preferably in the fresh air.
  • Don’t try to locate the source of the leak.
  • Don’t use an electric device, even cell phones.

When safely outside, call 9-1-1 first, then call us at 800-477-5050.

Learn more about natural gas safety in your community in our Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Guide.
